Our Story

Going back…

Baking is in our Main Cookie Maker’s DNA. From standing on an upturned bucket, practicing recipes from her My Learn to Cook Book, before she could reach the kitchen bench, to baking cakes, pastries and slices everyday after school in her teens – stopping only when her mother could no longer afford to fund her baking habit. She became one of the first people to sell wholesale cookies to cafe’s around Perth in the 90’s, and is still supplying some of these cafe’s some 24 years later. One Smart Cookie has been a lifetime in the making.

 

 

Today

One Smart Cookie is proudly 12 years old!  We still operate from a home based commercial kitchen and produce individually handcrafted cookies for cafe’s, function centres, meeting rooms, recreation centres, schools and private and corporate events.  We aim to create the freshest possible baked cookies in a range that incorporates best selling cafe classics with new and interesting artisan cookies exclusive to our One Smart Cookie brand.

So what’s our secret? Well, we can’t tell you that but we can say that with a passion for research and experimenting in the kitchen, One Smart Cookie’s tiny team is 100% committed to using quality ingredients to produce the
freshest, individually handmade cookies in town.

One Smart Cookie’s range includes your classic favourites, fun treats for the little ones and a few select choices for the more discerning cookie munchers. Gourmet, holiday and unique artisan cookies are offered as very special specials throughout the year.

  • Tips & Tricks

    Spreading the love from our kitchen to yours!

    Melt chocolate and chocolate ganache in the microwave for an easy, no fuss alternative to using a double boiler.

    Cookie dough is greatly altered by the ambient room temperature. In winter, soften the butter in the microwave, in summer remove the butter from the fridge 6 to 12 hours before making the dough.

    If your cookie dough is too dry, adding some extra water to the dough to allow it soften and spread
